Mannbåer anchorage.
This is just the place to fish!!
Just like last week, within moments of the anglers lowering the lines in the water, the first fish was hooked! A nice big cod, caught by one of the kids coached by Mike.
Mike, one of our last week's Scotsmen from the Hebrides, is on board this week as our kayaking and fishing guide, and he is doing a fantastic job with the kids (and the adults) on board tonight and they're hooking one fish after the other. Fish risotto for dinner tomorrow!
Around lunchtime today the first of our group of Polish guests started appearing and by mid afternoon, all 12 of them were on board. We have two Polish families with some friends on board this week, including 4 kids from 8 to 15. They are a friendly bunch (even brought us all some delicious Krakow chocolates), but communciations are going to be a bit more challenging than last week, despite having to deal with the Sco'ish accents. Still closer to English and Dutch than Polish...
After Boogie's welcome and safety talks and a last minute trip to the fire station for me (to pick up another kid's lifejacket - the Norwegian firemen are cute!), we were on our way to Mannbåer, same as last week.
It's a short trip and gets us out of the city in about two hours and into some great and quiet scenery: green and black mountains all around, some snowcapped, a few little islands and lots of fish!
Great start of our second week cruising.
